I have a bunch of stuff I'd love to talk about, but I'd never get to all of them. So, instead, I've decided it's time for the third installment of . . .

RANDOM THOUGHTS

  • I hate suits. In fact, the tie, is the only male attire that is claimed ot serve to practical purpose. What about cumberbuns, coattails, and brimless hats? I'll wear shorts and a T-shirt if I can, thank you very much.

  • The best (and worst) thing about having to wear a mask is that you don't have to brush your teeth.

  • No matter how much of a jerk anyone is to me, I try to treat them with respect. Not doing so can make matters worse. If matters still become worse, it's the other person's fault.

  • I've used this as a recurring joke through the years, but it's a serious thought for me: Do devil worshippers say, "What the Heaven?"

  • I think the Houston Dynamo rebrand is the most detestable thing in soccer. I'll let anyone know it, and I'm not going along with it. I never went along with the Rockets' hoop logo, either, and look how long that lasted.

  • It's difficult to believe there are only 14 different calendars, a set of seven starting on each day of the week, and a second set for leap years.

  • I believe that an athletic schedule should be completely balanced in every respect. Most American leagues won't do it. The NFL is worst. the number of games may as well be an unmanageable prime number.

  • My copy of The Best of the Bellamy Brothers doesn't have "Sugar Daddy" on it. That's one of their biggest hits!

  • I refuse to put the letter of the law before the spirit of the law. And if that means the letter is violated when I do the right thing according to why the law was written, the best thing you can do is STFU. It's not always possible to incorporate everything intended in to the wording.

  • I go to mom and pop places or hole-in-the-walls whenever I can. They need all the help they can get, especially during the pandemic.

  • 80s children talk about Pac-man, Galaga, and Zaxxon. Then there were Robtron 2084, Omega Race, and Moon Cresta. But my favorite was Venture, which had this little red smiley face with a bow going into different rooms shooting arrows to get treasure. Man, I loved that game.

  • The fact that the saying "the struggle is real" is used to apply to one person shows just how overconfident we are, and how fake some people can be. We all have our struggles, but many are denying them to put on the illusion of living a great life.

  • I still have a heart-shaped pillow from my heart surgery ten years ago. Sometimes, I'll hold it and think about what I've learned love truly is. (Several previous blogs have dealt with this in some way.)

  • Given how things have gone since the election, I won't call Biden the winner before the Electors' votes are counted on January 3.

  • I'm going to start drawing again. There are some things I've wanted to draw, but a lot of time has been taken away from me the last few years.

  • My first rule: Never make decisions for other people. They have freedom of choice over their own lives, not you.

  • I own a number of books dealing with Bible translations, encyclopedic knowledge, and history. These are some of the main reasons why I reject Fundamentalism.

  • I feel sorry for anyone who keeps moving from place to place. They may never know what it's like to have a real home.

  • The difference between live and love are the letters I and O. You live love by acting like "I owe" this person, even if you dont.

  • The most profound statements happen on the spur of the moment. Martin Luther King had plenty of them.

  • My godmother called life "a bowl of cherry pits". My cousin called it "the short hand on a slow clock". I say it's a javelin, and you're a judge in the field.

  • I'm surprised how many people I remember who moved away in elementary school. Nicolas, Stephanie, Laurie, Crysta (who I found on Facebook a while back), and still others.

Until next time . . .
